CEO and Managing Partner

Steve Davey, Hayden Creek Advisors CEO and Managing Partner, has 23 years' experience in the financial services industry serving the middle market in a variety of capacities including: lender, investor, direct lender, and risk management consultant. Davey is responsible for advising clients during times of growth and crisis on strategies surrounding capital markets, asset risk, liquidity solutions, events of distress / turnaround, as well as sell-side M&A. Davey has led two trade organizations as President, current Turnaround Management Association Northern CA President, occupies Board of Director roles, is an operating founder / entrepreneur as well as investor and advisor to various tech and special situation start-ups.

Immediately preceding HCA, Davey was Senior Vice President at CAC Specialty, serving as a founding member of the Special Situations Group, providing advisory to distressed and bankrupt companies. Prior to his time at CAC, Davey was a member of the same distressed / bankruptcy practice at JLT Specialty, a division of JLT Group, which was acquired for $6Bn. Prior to joining JLT, Davey was Director at Lateral Investment Management, a private direct lending fund, Director with AloStar Bank, a specialty lender focused on leveraged debt; as well as Vice President with PNC Bank, a national lender focused on leveraged, structured and second lien debt. Davey spent his formative career focused on lending and investment activities within the middle market via originations, underwriting, portfolio management, capital markets, DIP financing, loan workouts, and liquidation of distressed / non-performing assets with HCC Capital, ATEL Capital Group, Bay View Capital, and Thomas Weisel Partners.

Peter J.L. Vogt
Managing Partner

Peter is the Founder and Managing Partner of Hayden Creek Capital, and has a over a decade of private equity investing experience. Prior to the founding of Hayden Creek Capital, Peter was a Vice President at Murano Group, a San Francisco based family office private investment firm, where he executed growth equity and buyout transactions principally in the consumer food and beverage industry. Peter was intimately involved in the firms investing activities focusing on deal origination, transaction structuring and execution, debt and equity capital markets, as well as portfolio company oversight. Peter served as Interim-CFO of A.G. Ferrari Foods, post acquisition, and worked extensively with the firm’s portfolio companies. Prior to Murano, Peter worked with GESD Capital Partners, a San Francisco based institutional private equity fund that focused on the consumer industry. His responsibilities included deal evaluation, transaction support, financial modeling, and assisting with portfolio company oversight.Prior to GESD, Peter worked at Financial Technology Partners, an Investment Bank in San Francisco, where he focused on a variety of transactions, including buy and sell side mergers and acquisitions, and private equity placements for numerous clients. Peter graduated with honors from Saint Mary’s College of California with a double major in Economics and Finance.

Adam Valainis
Managing Partner

Adam is an accomplished middle market private equity investor and operator with over a decade of experience acquiring, starting and operating consumer-oriented and B2B organizations. Over the past 12 years Adam has led or supported private equity investments totaling several hundred million dollars in both debt and equity, has led two organizations as CEO, has occupied multiple Board of Director roles, has been on the founding team of two companies, has been an advisor to multiple start-ups, and has been critical in the turn-around of the distressed operations of two organizations

Adam’s investment experience includes:

Founder at Stoa Capital, an independent equity sponsor; Directing equity investments with Kingfish Group, an established consulting firm; Prospect Capital Management, executing private equity investments including LBOs, mezzanine and high-yield debt; Co-Founder at Growth Capital Management, a private investment firm designed for small companies focused on growth; and GESD Capital Partners, focused on the consumer, restaurant, and business services sectors. Adam began his career in Ernst & Young’s Assurance and Advisory Business Services practice, which he left to develop and implement an internal control and compliance infrastructure as well as an operational process improvement regime for Elan Pharmaceuticals. Adam was also a member of the founding team of Banyan Water, developing predictive and real-time intelligence and data analysis solutions to promote efficient management decisions in water and waste-water systems.

Adam received his BA in Economics and Spanish from the College of the Holy Cross, his MS in Accounting from the University of Virginia, and his MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley.
